Angkor Palace Resort & Spa was selected for the AIPO (ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Organization) Meeting held during 20-22 July 2005. The welcome dinner reception was prepared in and around the lush green garden of the Apsara Pavilion Terrace under the stars. The dinner was presided over the HRH Samdech Krom Preah Norodom Ranariddh, President of the National Assembly of the Kingdom of Cambodia. 

>>> July 2008 | Japanese Agent Golf Study Trip

On 27 July 2008 with support from our business partners, Angkor Golf Resort & Bayon CM Organizer invited Japanese travel agents from four  major cities in Japan – Osaka, Tokyo, Nagoya, and Fukuoka -to Siem Reap for a study tour.

With the generous support from Vietnam Airlines and MM International in Japan, the event was a success. The agents enjoyed their stay at The Palace and left with a full knowledge of the Khmer heritage and culture.


>>> November 2008 | World Responsible Tourism Day

World Responsible Tourism Day on 26 November was celebrated at Angkor Palace Resort & Spa with a full program of activities. Organised by HOPE, the event brought together all spectrums of the tourism industry and variety of NGO’s and charities in a networking environment, with the aim of showing exactly how the tourism industry can contribute to responsible tourism. 

The event saw a turnout of about 70 people with background music from the Landmine Victims band, and canapés and drinks, hosted by Angkor Palace Resort and Spa.
Various organisations, representing different spheres of community development work, set up display tables to showcase their work, arts & crafts that promote sustainable tourism.

At Angkor Palace Resort & Spa, the fun never ends! On New Year's Eve, the resort held an extravagant buffet gala dinner reception at the poolside terrace which was preluded by a welcome cocktail at the Apsara Pavilion Terrace. To add to the exuberance, a seafood extravaganza featuring freshly shucked oysters and lobsters was served. There were lucky draws, games, fireworks and a dance floor for all the clients to join in the revelry to mark the end of another year.

Angkor Palace Resort & Spa played host to the Siemens Healthcare Asia Pacific Sales Meeting in January. Organized by the Singapore Regional office, the group consisted of 36 delegates from Singapore, Australia, India, Germany, Denmark, Thailand, Taiwan, Vietnam, Japan, China, USA, Philippines and Indonesia. An annual event, the schedule was packed with two full-day meetings and one gala dinner at Apsara Pavilion where guests enjoyed a cultural show as well. Guests were delighted with the overall arrangements and the company looks forward to returning again.

60 participants from Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Philippine, China, Taiwan, Korea, France and Sri Lanka relished the cool night breeze by the poolside after a full day of meetings. Enjoying the sumptuous culinary spread to the sounds of our live band, the groups were also treated to a spectacular Cambodian cultural dance show on the stage.

The two-day IDEC (International Drug Enforcement Conference) Far East Regional Working Group Meeting was graced by H.E SAR KHENG, Deputy Prime Minister & Minister of Interior and H.E General Neth Savouen, Commissioner General of National Police.  Also present was Ms. Carol Rodley, US Ambassador in Cambodia who led the delegation from U.S. Department of Justice, Drug Enforcement Administration, and Bangkok.  About 80 participants from the ASEAN Countries as well as Australia, Hong Kong, New Zealand, Korea and Japan attended the event held from 24-25 February

Guests were treated to a welcome dinner at the Poolside and a Cambodian cultural performance.

Over 110 delegates from
Africa and Indo-China gathered for the Coca Cola Sabco Annual Corporate Meeting at Angkor Palace Resort & Spa at the end of March. Themed ‘On Track 2010’, the group’s busy itinerary was filled with meetings, team building activities and a grand finale dinner cum award presentation.  Leading the delegation was Fanus Nothnagel, CEO of Coca Cola Sabco, headquartered in South Africa.

Philips Lighting Group Quality Improvement Competition Asia Semi-Final 2009

  

Angkor Palace Resort & Spa was selected as the venue for teams from Philips Lighting to compete in the 10-day long semi-finals of the Philips Lighting Group Quality Improvement Competition Asia in May. Over 200 participants including jury members from China, Japan, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, Australia, Korea, Singapore, Holland and Britain (Jury and organizers) converged in Siem Reap for a series of activities to compete for a place in the semi-finals for the world final in Marrakesh in June. 

The teams from national representatives of Philips Lighting offices in
Asia presented various ideas to improve their quality services such as cost and energy savings as well as environmentally friendly operations to the jury. Other non-competition activities included lunch at the floating village at Tonle Sap Lake and a sunset visit to the legendary Angkor Wat…

With such a busy schedule, the participants have vowed to return to Siem Reap for a more leisurely holiday!

The Second Mekong-Japan Foreign Ministers' Meeting


Foreign Affairs Ministers and delegates from Cambodia, Japan, Vietnam, Laos, Thailand and Myanmar came together for the Mekong-Japan Foreign Ministers’ Meeting held at Angkor Palace Resort & Spa from 2-3 October 2009. Chaired by H.E. Mr. HOR Namhong, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Kingdom of Cambodia, the meeting covered the development plans of the Mekong region and a range of issues such as global warming, North Korea nuclear weapon and A (H1N1).

The session was opened by Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo HUN SEN, Prime Minister of the Royal Government of Cambodia
